I grew up watching stray dogs and cats be part of everyday life. You see it so often you convince yourself it doesn&#8217;t affect you.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">But it does. It stays with you.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">I&#8217;ve always been an animal lover. Always wanting to help, always heartbroken knowing I couldn&#8217;t do enough. I watched rescuers online doing the work and kept asking myself the same question: what if that were me?<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">And at some point I had to ask myself: when was I going to be part of the solution?<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">In 2025 I stopped asking and started building. I repurposed an old abandoned farm into a sanctuary. In just two months the space was rehabilitated and 35 dogs were rescued.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Today Santuario Dom\u00ednguez runs with a small, deeply committed team. Dogs are being fed, loved, vetted and rehomed every day.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">The problem is enormous. Our capacity is limited. But every dog we pull off the street is one less living in fear.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">This is our work.
